Greetings fellow crafters! Today we will be showing you how to make marbled jewelry with simple ingredients you already have. With just acrylic paint and white school glue, you will be able to easy create these fun pieces for you and your kids. Here’s what you will need for these projects:
SUPPLIES
White glue or Mod Podge
Acrylic paints
Aluminum foil tape
Plastic bag, wax paper or a plastic lid (to pour the paint on) I found a plastic lid to work best because you can pick it up and move it around. It also gives you a shiny finish when the paint mixture is dry.
Jewelry findings (If you need some and can’t get to the store, let me know and I will send you some free of charge!)
STEP 1
Pour white glue onto your plastic lid, wax paper or plastic bag.
Pour acrylic paint into the glue and swirl into a pattern. Don’t swirl too much or you will lose the contrasting colors. You will want about 1 cup of glue to 1/4 cup paint but it doesn’t need to be exact. The more paint you have, the more solid the colors will be.
Turn the lid around a few times and let the colors run together.
You can add a tiny bit of powdered makeup or glitter if you like. Be sure not to use too much or it will cake and glob up when it dries.
STEP 2
Allow the paint mixture to dry completely for 2 days.
STEP 3
Pull the paint sheet off the plastic carefully. Then cut into the shape you desire.
For the bracelet, trace the shape on the back with a marker, then cut and glue onto the bracelet with E600) or another waterproof glue.
STEP 4
Cut a piece of aluminum foil tape big enough to fit the shapes. Place the shapes onto the tape and cut. The foil will be on the back side.
*Optional step: Print off a shape and mosaic in small pieces of the acrylic skin to create a stained glass pattern. I have the link to the patterns I used below.
STEP 5
Poke a small hole into the top of the shape and attach the earring hook or glue on a bail.
You can also make stained glass windows, sun catchers, etc with this same technique. You can youtube search this craft under the name: Acrylic Skins Jewelry or Acrylic Skins Stained Glass. You should also take a look at Ringleaders’ natural gemstone jewellery collection if you’re looking for elegant jewelry pieces.
