Spring DIY Fairy Garden Projects
Greetings my fellow crafters! This season on Mass Appeal we are going to be making fairy gardens, garden art and all things fae. Winter is finally over! This wee table top garden was made with items from the dollar store and recycled trash. Total cost is $10. We will be making this at the end of May.
Today on Mass Appeal we will be making DIY light up fairy lanterns. The total cost of this project is $5-10. Here’s what you will need to make the lanterns:
Supplies
Glass jar
Acrylic paint (2-3 colors)
Glitter
White Glue
Glue Gun
Flowers
Ribbon
Sponge paint brushes
Fairy Lights or LED Tea Light
Instructions
Prepare the jars by washing them thoroughly, as any residue will interfere with paint adhesion.
Drop a few drops of different colors of acrylic paint inside the jar. Sponge the paint around the inside. Pour glitter in the jar while the paint is wet. Allow the paint to dry for a few hours.
Cut and glue the fairy silhouette inside the jar. Here is a template my daughter made for you.
You can buy more designs here. If you happen to have a silhouette cutting machine, use it! Glue the design on the INSIDE of the jar.
Add some flowers or moss on the inside for a woodland fairy look. You can decorate the outside of the jar with flowers, beads rhinestones etc. Insert the dollar store mini lights or led tea light. Real candles won’t work due to the paper and paint!
This is a cute, fun and easy craft to make with your kids. I hope you enjoy it! Let us know if you have any suggestions for this summer’s garden craft segments. See you soon.
