DIY Glass Christmas Ornaments

This Tuesday on Mass Appeal we are going to show you how to make lovely glass ornaments with the paint on the INSIDE.  I’ve always loved the Christopher Radko glass ornaments but wouldn’t spend the money to decorate the entire tree with them. I found a way to make really pretty ornaments with old nail polish, nail polish remover and glitter. It’s so easy and you can make all kinds of color combinations with very little paint!   SUPPLIES...

DIY Pilgrims & Indians Gourd Dolls, Recycled Halloween Decor for Fall!

We all buy pumpkins and gourds to set out for Halloween and fall decorating. After Halloween many of the plastic and dried gourds are still good but like most decorations, they just sit until after thanksgiving and we throw them away. I thought of a cute craft to do with the kids using plastic and dried gourds that will last you through Thanksgiving.  You can also use these techniques to make Mr and Mrs. Santa and some snowmen too!...

The first day of snow!

Yesterday was the first day of snow for New England. I’m quite certain I’m the only one celebrating. After all, Brucey is a California native and loves the heat. We both suffer for 6 months for the other one’s seasonal happiness. Hee hee! I attribute fall to a time to let go of unwanted things in our lives. As the leaves fall, it reminds me to clean out everything that no longer serves me. Winter is a time to...

DIY Kids Halloween Costumes

As a Mother, I always started worrying around the 1st of October about what I could do for my daughter’s Halloween costume.  I couldn’t spend $75 at the Disney store for ONE day of fun, I just didn’t have the budget. Year after year my daughter and I would start dreaming up everything from warrior costumes to tiger costumes to avatar costumes and everything in between. I was determined to make her costumes that looked as good as what...

DIY Wool Felted Soap

Today on Mass Appeal we showed you how to make wool felted soap. Wool is naturally anti-bacterial so you can keep it in the shower and it won’t mold. The wool covers the soap and saves it so it lasts longer. Everyone in my family likes a different kind of soap so it makes perfect sense to make one for each person. Here are some basic instructions to help you along and some links to buy your supplies. Happy...

DIY Paint Marbling Techniques

Greetings crafters! On Mass Appeal we are going to learn to marble paint together. I’m new at this too btw, but I’m already in love with all the things I can make. This week I learned all the DON’T more than the DO’s of these techniques but I’m getting better at it. I marbled glass, jewelry, leather, plastic, wood, and paper.  Because I like to focus on crafts you can do with your kids, we won’t be doing nail...
