    DIY Denim Earrings

Hello neighbors! Today on Mass Appeal we will be making these on trend denim earrings.

If you are a Massachusetts resident, you can contact me and get a box of findings free of charge. Just text, call or email me at: 413-512-3714 or [email protected] and I’ll send you the earring findings and spring rings you need. I also have rhinestones, etc if you want some. For out of state viewers, the cost is $10 to cover shipping and handling. See the links at the bottom of the page for information on where to buy the findings.

    SUPPLIES

    Denim jeans

    Hot glue gun

Mod Podge or white school glue

    E6000 permanent glue

Nail decorations such as flat back rhinestones, pearls, etc (optional)

Broken jewelry such as rhinestones, chains, etc (optional)

    Earring posts/hooks

1 Pair of fishnets or lace stockings

    Craft foam (optional)

    Glitter or metallic eyeshadow (optional)

    Plastic Wrap

    Tape

    DIRECTIONS

    STEP 1

Lay denim on a piece of plastic wrap. Paint on a layer of white glue. You can add eyeshadow and/or glitter for added sparkle. Tape the edges to keep it from curling up. Allow this to dry overnight.

    STEP 2

Use the patterns in the link at the bottom of the page or, just cut denim into shapes you like. For one pair, I used a roll of tape. For the other pairs, I drew a pattern on paper and then used that to cut the denim.

Cut 2 pieces of denim for each pair of earrings in case you need extras. Cut 2 pieces of craft foam the same size as the denim.

*For the lace pair, cut 2 pieces of fishnet a little larger than the denim pieces.

    STEP 3

Hot glue the lace to the back edges as shown. For the O ring pair, glue the glitter foam to the back as shown.

    STEP 4

Glue on the rhinestones with E6000. Glue on the chains with a tiny bit on hot glue to secure in place, then cover with E6000 glue. Allow to dry for a few hours.

    Step 5

Poke hole in the top and attach the earring findings as shown.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR FEATHER EARRINGS

    STEP 1

Cut 2 squares of denim with the grain going the same direction.

    STEP 2

Pull the edges until you have a small line in the middle

    STEP 3

Superglue the center so it doesn’t unravel further. Then cut to the shape you prefer. Then you can decorate with chains and add the earring findings as shown above with the other earrings.

Ok, that’s it! Easy peazy lemon squeezy! One pair of jeans can make dozens of jewelry items. We will be making denim necklaces February 4th so save your supplies! Here are the links you will need.
