Christmas Tree Angel ( 2 variations)

    Easy #1

Cut cone template. Download at the bottom of the blog.
Glue on decorative or colored paper.
    Glue cone together.
Glue clip art to cereal box or card stock. You want a back and a front.
Cut one with fine detail and the other in a general shape.
Insert a plastic bag in the waist and glue both sides together.
Allow to dry and trim the back side to fit the front.
Trace skirt pattern to dryer sheet.
    Cut out skirt.
Scribble permanent marker on the dryer sheet.
Paint with alcohol dabbing with a tissue or rag as you go.
    Allow to dry completely.
Make a few so you can get the color you want.
Cut a pattern on the bottom.
Put small dabs of hot glue around the top of the cone. Use a pen to gather the skirt around the top.
Put a large amount of hot glue inside the waist of the angel.
Place the angel on the cone and glue down the sides.
You can add glitter to the wings, a pipe cleaner for a halo, etc. if you wish to decorate her more.

    Second Angel

Cut 2 angels and glue to cardstock or cereal box.
Glue together but LEAVE THE WAIST area without glue. Place a plastic bag in that area so it doesn’t close.
Using the cone template, cut and tape.
    Cover with white glue.
    Glue on scraps of paper.
Allow to dry and cut the excess on the pattern line.
Cover a cardboard box with a plastic bag. Paint with watered down white glue. Lay down the dryer sheets.
With a little acrylic paint, brush over the top and sprinkle on some glitter. The more paint you use, the stiffer it will be.
Allow the sheets to dry overnight. Then cut into petal shapes.
Hot glue the petals on in rows, longest on the bottom and shortest on the top.
Place a line of hot glue around the top of the cone.
Put a large amount of hot glue in the waist area of the angel. Place it on the cone and wrap the sides around so they are sealed.
Add glitter etc to her wings if you prefer.

    Ornaments

Cover a box with a plastic bag. Tape it down on the edges. Be sure any text on the bag is on the inside as it WILL transfer!
Spread the glue out on the plastic. Add some water so it has the consistency of cream.
Cover the glue with used dryer sheets.
Add a few DROPS of acrylic paint. The more paint you use, the stiffer the sheet. You can sprinkle glitter on the top if you like.
Allow it to dry completely. You should be able to peel the sheet off easily.
Cut the dryer sheet in half, long ways.
Glue the clip art to the card stock or cereal box. Make 2 if you want a back side.
Cut the clip art and cut a back out of decorative paper if you only want one side.
Hot glue the dryer sheet to the waist, using a pen to help you gather the material. Glue on the ribbon for the hanger and the paper backing.
Cut the dryer sheet if you wish. With white glue, paint over any areas you want to add glitter.
Allow all the ornaments to dry.
    NEXT PROJECT
Cut the clip art and a copy for the back or decorative paper.
We are using an old book page to fan fold. You can use any paper for this. You will need 2 of these.
Continue to fold like a zig zag up the paper.
Once you reach the top, fold it in half.
Add a line of glue to the outside fold.
Glue the 2 pages together using a lot of glue on the edges and in the middle.
Cut a ruffle edge on one of the half sheets. Place a line of hot glue on the mat. Use a pen to gather the fabric and allow to dry.
I made 4 sections of ruffles.
Hot glue the ruffles to the paper fan rosette.
Glue some scraps of dryer sheet to the clip art. I glued on some dried flowers and added some ink around the edges.
Glue your ribbon at the top so it will hang on the tree.

Cut the dryer sheet in half long ways. Cut a pattern on the edge.
Glue a line on the mat and gather it with a pen so you don’t burn your fingers.
Once its dry, glue the sections together to make a circle. Glue in the center.
Before you cut a doily, hot glue around the outer edge of where you are going to cut so it doesn’t unravel.
Cut off the outer half moon shapes.
Glue to the back of the clip art.
    Allow to cool down.
Glue the back AND the inside center of the dryer sheet. Add a loop of ribbon at the top.
Press down with your hand. Use a cloth if it’s too hot.
Finished Ornament. Start Next project. >
Do all the steps for the angel TOP PORTION. Leave the inside waist open with no glue.
Gather a full size dryer sheet with hot glue.
Insert in the waist of the angel. Add ribbon for hanging.

    Glue together so it’s strong.
Trace pattern with marker on dryer sheet.
Cut out 3 layers for skirt.
Scribble on skirt with permanent marker.
    Paint over with alcohol.
    Allow to dry.
    Cut bottom hem in shapes.
Hot glue a line on the mat and then gather the skirt. Use a pen so you don’t burn your fingers.
Do the same for all the layers.
Glue the bottom later first, then add a line of glue for each layer. Press down with a pen.
Allow the glue to cool and peel off the mat.
    Trim waist line.
Punch holes in the limbs for brads.
Add a dot on the back to align hip brads.
    Attach hip brads.
    Attach arm brads.
No need to decorate it unless you want to.
Glue on broken jewelry and add glitter while the glue is wet.
Unroll cotton balls and twist into rows.
Squeeze out glue on to plastic.
    Roll cotton in the glue.
Attach the cotton to the head and allow to dry.
Glue on dryer sheet scraps to make sleeves.
Glue a line across the hips and attach skirt.
Add broken jewelry and glitter while the glue is wet.
